My point was that whether or not her intent was manipulative, the result, dissemination of  the sci-hub and  libgen sites plus providing a sample DOI for an example of how to use the site, recognize a DOI number etc., she wanted the paper, it cost me nothing to provide it (and in doing so help others access the information they want for nothing, and  bypass the paywalls) both provided the same end result. What she sought furthers my own aims and  benefits others, costs me nothing and as a whole, has a positive result.

I see no reason to have told Elle to get lost, when the end result of the aim of either of us falls into alignment.
