Anyone here got loud shoes?
« on: February 27, 2013, 11:12:55 PM »
Loud shoes are a sign of status and power. Notice how important people have loud shoes, that announce them as they arrive.

Actually, while in the military, they instructed us specifically to stomp every right-foot-step when marching, as it would create the illusion of a rumbling horde

But important individuals sortof try to achieve this on their own, with really hard shoes, that clap loudly against the floor.
They are also very slippery shoes
They're like - completely impractical - but that too symbolizes their status: They don't need to worry about the ice, because someone will sand or salt the ground before their feet, roll out a carpet, their own jacket, or lift the dignitary and carry him in their arms. Slippery shoes say: I don't need to give a shit.
For then to clap loudly when they walk away

I always wanted loud shoes
I would stomp around, with my imposing walk!

Our marching was taught to emphasize every other right step as one, two, three, FOUR! I have clomped around in loud boots in the past. Now I walk quietly unless I am making the effort to be loud.

More of a tiptoe.

Yes, that is what I have now, and always had.
It's kinda aspie, as well, to tiptoe around. Like a cat :I

Which, I guess, is why loud shoes fascinate me. But my shoes don't help, since they are practical shoes with soft soles, made for digging into the ground. I THINK I had some loud shows back when I had my confirmation, but I'm not sure.

Casanova, there's probably all kinds of stomp-intervals in military marches, even where I was I bet they varied it from time to time, or depending on situation.

And I walk quietly too, that's not what this thread is about - it is wether or not you *own* loud shoes *at all* :D
Because some shoes are simply MADE to be loud!

Like politicians shoes! These are shoes deliberately made to clap loudly!

Yes. Have some. High heels are noisy, but don't often wear them.

I just realized, more women have noisy shoes than men.
And yes, a nice noisy heel is what I want. Not for my regular walking around - have in mind, I subscribe to the culture of wearing socks indoors (some cultures do, some don't, prefering shoes) so my shoe-wearing is strictly for outdoors business. When I'm outdoors, I can afford to be more loud and imposing, when I'm indoors I just wanna be myself :D

All my shoes are rubber-soled sensible work shoes.  Even my stomping is quiet!   :sumo:

No... my slippers are loud... yet right now I can't wear both of them on my feet.... because my right leg has an aircast on it.

Is the air in the cast healing properly?

I had a friend who wore tap shoes to a non-tap dance venue for awhile.  It was awesome and I kinda sorta want to as well.  Not enough to actually follow through on it, though.

I think you'd fit in a 12" or at least a 16" firework mortar
You win this thread because that's most unsettling to even think about.

This brings back PE memories. There it was "LEFT, two, three, four, LEFT, two, three, four, ...." Seemed like a never ending rhythmic stampede, on bare feet.
I hated PE.  :P

At least you had your hooves, to make your stampeding truly impressive!    :hyke:
