Today I went to a munch and it was a Halloween munch this time. I wore a Cookie Monster costume and it was a woman version costume because it was a dress. I didn't win anything for the costume contest. I felt so offended. But I held it in and didn't show it because I didn't want to be a sore loser.

Was it a homemade costume?

No I got it at Goodwill and it was complete.

A munch is a term for people to gather up together and hang out and it's about a kink. That word was originally about BDSM meetups but it's evolved to mean other meetups that are kink/fetish related.

Some people there were dressed up as littles or babies and some were homemade. Another guy who also wore a real costume was a bumblebee and he got offended too for me. But yet he still won something for his costume.

So not really much competition, then? Haven't been around a ton of costume contests, but it seems the costumes with some imagination invested tend to win.
