Not rush off anywhere in the morning and that in itself makes me insanely happy :P

Get up at 4:15am so I can travel to the city to do a 15km walk for charity. I don't mind this but what will probably suck is that it is meant to rain a lot tomorrow. I have an umbrella and a raincoat.

Edit: Not only rain but thunderstorms and hail too. I wonder if the event will be called off.

Okay some voting trivia.

In Louisiana, local and state elections are on Saturday.

Federal elections are always on a Tuesday?  Why?  Because back when we were an agrarian society, the farmer could not leave his animals unattended 2 days in a row.  Voting on either Saturday or Monday would make it harder for a farmer to vote.  And it is considered sacreligious to vote on Sunday, when he went to church.

In Federal elections you can early vote starting on the 14th day before the election extending through the 7th day before the election, giving the voter 7 days of early voting (Sundays excepted.)  The regular election day is the first Tuesday in November.

Interesting. :plus:

For those same reasons we have ours on a Sunday. :zoinks:

Kind of limited career options there.

Someone forgot to tell her:

England, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- A British woman who shouted, "I'm Jack Sparrow," at police officers while stealing a ferry was sentenced to 112 days in prison.

Alison Whelan, who the Torquay, England, court heard had been drunk for two days and taking hallucinogen nightshade when she and a friend took shelter on the Paignton Pleasure Cruises' Dart Princess ferry in Devon Sept. 10, 2011, was found guilty of aggravated vehicle taking and sentenced Wednesday to 112 days in prison, the BBC reported Thursday.

Whelan called an ambulance to the ferry when she feared she was having a seizure, but she cast off from the pontoon when police arrived, the court heard.

"I'm Jack Sparrow," Whelan allegedly shouted to police, referencing the character from the popular "Pirates of the Caribbean" film series.

The theft set off a chase lasting for more than an hour involving police, the coast guard and the local lifeboat service. The ferry sustained about $2,430 worth of damage from colliding with two other vessels during the chase.

Ashley Lane, operations manager for Paignton Pleasure Cruises, said the incident could have been far worse.

"The fact is that, had circumstances been different tide-wise, it could have been serious," Lane said. "She could have seriously been injured had it gone out of the river."

Perhaps take PA for his drivers license.  It expired almost 2 years ago, sooooooooooooo.........

He has to take the vision test.
He has to take the written test.
He has to take the driving test.

I'm betting he won't get past the written test because the last one he took was in the early 1960's.  We don't need to have some walk ahead of the automobile to keep it from frightening horses.

To about 1700, although I haven't done the research myself. I could probably trace it far longer back if I wanted  :viking:
