Hope no-one had important files on Megaupload...

...because it could all be permanently deleted in a couple of days. Bad enough it's off-line, but should they do this, there's no chance of recovering anything.

So yeah, without trial or due process, not only they took down a site, but now they can potentially purge everything too (even legit stuff)? WTF?
Existence actually has two broad meanings despite its apparent meaningless. The constant reconciliation of all its parts, and the conservation of any closed system as a whole.

Morality can be extrapolated from these meanings to make these two commandments of godless morality: 1). Be in harmony with one another and 2). Care for the environment.

They'll purge it all, it will be a ghost of what it once was (if it comes back at all).

Look for them to start shipping the letters out in a few months to the people (they can trace) that had files of "dubious" origins uploaded.

Must make a statement in "the war against piracy". :wanker:

R**idshare and the likes will start policing more heavily, other sites may become "members only" and "fade into the background".

They can fight the war, but...like they say, "where there's a will, there's a way", and they will always find a way.

...if you do intentionally. Most people that clicked on that link probably didn't have a clue.

According to Anon's statement and confirmed reports they took down 14 sites in retaliation on the 19th.

Okay. How about they start taking down websites that people actually visit that are being run/supported by the government, the MIAAfia, and the like?

I'm so goofy.  I thought it was pronounced Meg-aup-load, not Mega-up-load.

Where's the money in that it's only crime.  Megaupload has assets to seize :dollar:

Anon's been stiking against the cp sites for quite awhile, they are usually a favorite target with hackers.
