Well i been to court,  had to hang around there for four hours!  but it was worth it!

Rear facing camera  -  could not see who was driving therefore it was thrown out!   yippeeeeeee

I find it rather disturbing that you could get a ticket entirely from a camera.

If I ever went to England, I'd buy copies of George Orwell's 1984 and hand them out to everyone and force them to read it. :soapbox:

They have red light cameras mounted in intersections and speeding cameras in vans in Colorado.  The vehicle owner gets a fine, but no points on his record.

Everyone hates the speed camera's here!  they are often vandalised,  blown up,  shot!

It works like this:   they clock anyone speeding and send a letter in the post offering a sixty pound fixed penalty and three points on your licence -  you can accept it within thirty days or go to court!  I chose to go to court,  but by doing so,  was facing six point and a five hundred pound fine (yeah - you see why people just accept the fixed penalty offer)

I would advise anyone in UK to check first if it was a rear facing camera,  if it was then the court will want proof that someone else is insured to drive your car,  if they are satisfied it could have been someone else they will throw it out!
