Filled Easter basket with Easter grass, two dozen plastic eggs, half of which have candy and half have Easter erasers, large stuffed bunny which is holding a small stuffed bunny, some Jelly Belly jelly beans, six egg shaped sidewalk chalks in a carton, two magic growing bunnies, two large Disney princess filled Easter eggs, and some cotton candy.

Also cooked soup.  Yesterday, I made ice cream.

How did you do that?  What ingredients did you use?

I used about a half gallon of whole milk and a pint of heavy whipping cream, sugar, vanilla, fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly sliced and blenderized with the milk and sugar, then sieved to get the fresh ginger flavor without the strings.  I put this into an ice cream freezer and added the appropriate amount of ice and ice cream salt and turned it on.  After it started to freeze, I stirred in a pound of candied crystallized diced ginger, removed the paddle and added more ice and salt to the ice cream freezer so the ginger ice cream could ripen.  It is very good.

You make clothing, you make ice cream ... you're like a pioneer woman!

Thanks, CBC.

:)

We can't buy ginger ice cream in the grocery store here, but my daughter fell in love with it in a homemade specialty ice cream shop that unfortunately went out of business.  I loved their double dark chocolate ice cream.  I'll have to see if I can duplicate that as well.

I googled and found this picture of double dark chocolate ice cream, but it's not nearly as dark as the ice cream from the ice cream shop.  Theirs is so dark it's almost black:

This looks a lot like the ginger ice cream I made, except that mine had more candied diced ginger in it:

@ Callaway,

If you ever get the pleasure of visiting Rome, then you need to get this absolute chocolate ice treat.

Been almost 25 years ago, and the thought of it still makes me         :meditate:
I can do upside down chocolate moo things!

Wait.

...and wait some more.

Waiting for septic guy #3 to come out and give a bid on fixing the "community" system fuck up.

He's late.

Strike one.

I hate that, I hate to wait!  I used to wait at home for phone calls on days off.

To bank,
PR to b'fast,
Brought PA lunch,
Filled up the car,
PR to thrift store,
PR to doctor appt,
Picked up dinner on the way home for later tonight
Cut PA's hair,
PR and I cut the front lawn
Intensified along the way.
All between 9:45 and 2:55.

PA has beef with green peppers and onions and I have pork moo goo gai pan.  We both have eggrolls.  If I buy the meal before 3 p.m. I pay lunch prices, which is about $2 cheaper a meal.  And I knew I was going to be sweaty from mowing.  Once I have my bath I'm not going out.

The PR has a tuna sub from Subway and cookies.

Wrote a few chapters on my whitepaper. Spent an hour in a meeting to... erm, no idea what the fuck it was about.
