A spar is the main structure in the wing of an aircraft that basically carries the aircraft's full weight. and I built it. With my hands. Because I'm awesome.   :celebrate:

I knew a spar was something on a boat, so I couldn't figure out why you were making one inland.  But then I never could figure out why my father-in-law was stationed in the Navy in Ottumwa, Iowa in WW2.

Or why my hometown hockey team is called the Sharks when we're way inland!   :dunno:

Oh, I didn't know boats had components named spars as well. I don't know much about boats.

I have heard of spars on planes but I always think of boats must be from living on the coast my entire life and from sailing when I was younger

The way my father-in-law explained it, the Navy wanted new recruits from the middle of the US so they could teach them the Navy way to do things as opposed to having recruits who already knew something about boats that the Navy would have to unteach them before it could teach them the Navy way.

Ah.  Similarly, maybe the Navy wanted the boys from the bayou to see some hills before they shipped out to sea.

When I had to adjust my plans of the day, I made a start with working on the piles of "things to be mended".

Ah, so now you are a Captain of Finance with all these mergers?

Not everything on my list, but my body aches as if I had done the list and then some.  Will carry on tomorrow.

Had breakfast and called the doctors to make an appointment. Have just realised I have to call them back as I have to specify that I need a longer appointment to fill out my Centrelink form. Dang.

Thankfully no. I hate very few things in life like I hate anything having to do with Finance.

Not a whole lot. It has looked like it was going to rain so I didn't do washing like I planned to. And I got really tired (from meds) so I had a sleep during the day for a few hours. Not very productive.
