Yes, yes I was. Painter's masking tape is not a difficult thing to apply and sure it is a bit of a pain but so very worth it in the end when you don't have ragged edges all over what could have been decent woodwork.Course these (probably the prior residents) people were the same ones who measured the window frame too short and instead of making a new piece, put up the short one and tacked a bit of extra wood on the end with exposed nails and a smeary dollop of glue.It's my house now damnit and yes I am judging.
