Yes, yes I was.  :P Painter's masking tape is not a difficult thing to apply and sure it is a bit of a pain but so very worth it in the end when you don't have ragged edges all over what could have been decent woodwork.

Course these (probably the prior residents) people were the same ones who measured the window frame too short and instead of making a new piece, put up the short one and tacked a bit of extra wood on the end with exposed nails and a smeary dollop of glue.

It's my house now damnit and yes I am judging.

Haven't done a lot today, beyond the usual household stuff.

OK, me too.

You show up in your painter's tape thong, I will certainly lift my shades. At least for a while.

Every place we look at is average for the local market and almost double what we expected for a house about like ours.

Bur seriously, wrong length finishing work? Covered with glue glops to fix?

I made some hurried cuts I regret repairing bathroom floors in this house, but I fixed it with more wood somewhere refit it and made it solid. Not so pretty, but we were tiling over it. It just had to be STRONG!

OT:

Today, I volunteered to drive again, early this morning. Normally, I drive old people during the week who can't drive to a doctor or sometimes a whole new residence, whole life in one or two suitcases. But today I had my car full (two trips worth) of people wanting to attend their church.

It felt good to do more.

Not done it yet but going to an Around The World all you can eat buffet later for my birthday.

I figure if I don't drink any beer and wear elasticated trousers I can beat my all time record.
Ever got that feeling that you're trying to teach a dog a card trick?

Carla and I both have the day off today.  So we went around and had an "errand" date".  Chilling together.

Turned on the heat.  Getting nippy out there.

In between working,
- got halfway through making a batch of meat pies by one of WolFish's recipes
- got halfway through writing two different things
- did grocery shopping

Going to pick up the cub in a few.

Worked all day without managing to do anything useful. Crappy software in combination with people who keep tugging at me.
