Went to an appointment with kid. Wrote further on a letter in the waiting room. Had an in between evaluative talk with the shrink who happened to see me sitting there. After appointment did some grocery shopping with kid in a supermarket that has what can't be bought here. Got back home on the bus. Fetched some fresh bread from the local bakery and some stuff I could get here from local supermarket.
Hung washing, Folded other washing. Prepared a simple but nice meal. Wrote email to English teacher of the oldest.
Tucked in youngest and read her some short stories.
Exchanged some stuff we read today with oldest.

Now it is time for some tea, catering cats for the last time today, and then tuck in. Head is still spinning round from the way too short night sleep.

Is it usual for kids in Netherlands to have an english teacher?

I hope you rest well, and find a quiet moment with your tea :)
Can't you guys even just imagine it?

Forget practicality, or your experience....can you just....imagine?

It's there. It always was.

Ah, teacher teaching English.

And yes, almost all kids will have to take English as a graduating subject. Only the very very speshul ones don't have to. But some of them still really want to. And then they will.
And then the bulk of kids has to do some French and/or German too. And over half of the kids will take one of those languages as a graduating subject.

Today, I listened to amazing vinyl I picked up a few days ago down in "Broad Ripple"  (one of the modern cultural centers of central Indiana) at a "used record store."

I walked out with twenty five awesome albums:

Pete Fountain (2)
Janis Joplin
Roberta Flack
Dave Brubeck
Diana Ross
Doors
Maynard Ferguson (2)
Deutsche Grammaphon all classical (11)
Apocalyptica (3)
Joe Bonamassa (2)

I am most amazed at how Apocalyptica sounds (different) on vinyl. My daughter loves this band, but on CD, it is so overly compressed that it grates on ones teeth. Playing it from the vinyl mastering, going through my tube based pre-amp, tube power amps, open box full range system etc it is actually quite listenable and surprisingly high resolution!!

Awesome. We have a great record store a couple of towns over in Huddersfield called Vinyl Tap - me and Mel can spend hours in there going through the used vinyl. Always worth a trip out.

Long time no see Dawg!

Busy day for me today - got up early as we were having a freezer delivered and cleared out the spot it was to go in, then loads more weekend cleaning up. Currently watching Xan and seriously considering forty winks.

I found some very nice IPAs. Also, I tasted the 18-yo Bowmore, which is fabulous.

Saw most of my direct relatives. Went grocery shopping with my mum. Spend some time in an infra-red sauna cubicle at my brother's place with my daughter. Relaxed day, and it was good to see brothers, mother, nieces and nephew. Talked to absent brother on the phone.
Bought some plants with my mother too.

Went back by train this evening. Knitted on the way home.

Kids and cats have been fed and watered a while ago, and are all sound asleep.

I am starting to long for my bed too.
