Beards

Who has a full beard, or once had a full beard?  Why did you grow it, or get rid of it?  Any tips or advice?

I'm about 3 weeks into growing one out and curious who else has tried it before.  Isn't it odd that the majority of men remove something that nature puts there, and only a small minority let it do its thing?

i had as full beard as i can get, but my growth is very akin to that of typical mestizo/injun, similar to che guevara
meaning
no matter how long i grow it, it just looks like a growing pile of pubes

im lazy, so ill usually let it all grow for a while, especially since it grows so slowly

I had one for probably six years.  I hate shaving and had always wanted to grow one so I did.  I got rid of it just for a change and have not grown one back since. I have gotten close but the intermediate stage when it's really short irritates me greatly and I usually break down and shave then

Never grew a beard or a mustache.  But here's a picture of Santa enjoying his summer vacation.

^^^ Ho Ho Hooooo!

I've had one since the year 2000, and just get it trimmed now and then. Just decided to give up shaving back then and grew it. Now half of it is grey, which I don't give a shit about. I doubt I'll grow a Ned Kelly one though.

I went over three months during the Boston Bruins Stanley Cup run without shaving. Hocket tradition. It got huge and i looked like the real Ted K. It was itchy between 2-4 wreks, but then it was cool again. Actually, sinced I trimmed it off and went a few days with the Earl Hickey/70s Porn Star look i haven't trmmef again. It is prettu slow for me and now I am conditioned I guess. For the record, I am NEVER cleanly shaven. I'll post a pic at various stages for fun when I get home or this weekend.

me too actually. beards on young/normal guys is more typical for the middle east. norwegians fanatically shave smooth every day, and i find it odd that beards are as rare as they are.

just as curiously, the only place i find beards on most norwegians in a group, is when i see them in war docus from afghanistan. i notice american troops in afghanistan are often clean shaven, so its something they seem to take very seriously :I norwegian troops seem to go more :viking:

The story is that in the middle east, if you have a beard you are less likely to be fucked with. And I mean literally. Middle Eastern men see is as unmanly to go clean shaven, so anyone without a beard or facial hair would be considered fair game. So if in the middle east, make sure you have one, and wear one of those Arab headdress thingies. The fuckers will leave you alone.

could be

still noticeable how clean shaven most american troops are tho

also the typical "jar head" haircut, i dont often see that either in our troops

They say 'surrender is not in our creed'.

I don't think camouflage is either.

I'm a few days into one again. My beard growth is a typical Finn's, however, so it's neither fast nor thick, and these days it's grey and white.

You obviously don't understand the meaning of the term "jarhead"

None of these troops are jarheads.
