See now how superior Latin is? In Latin it would be Illae puellae...habent... in the nominative. I don't know what "road signs" is in Latin, but it would be in the accusative. "Colour" would stand in the ablative, colore - ergo: the meaning of the sentence would be impossible to misunderstand  :viking:

Compare English:

The girls are picking roses in the garden

and Swedish:

Flickorna plockar blommor i trädgården

with German:

Die Mädchen pflücken Blumen im Garten

and at last Latin:

Puellae carpunt rosas in horto

You see: German is superior to English and Swedish and Latin is superior to them all  :viking:

In Latin you can simply change the order of the words as you please:

Puellae in horto rosas carpunt
In horto carpunt puellae rosas
Rosas in horto carpunt puellae

Etc etc etc  8)
