Hi, all.

Still healthy, we are, but my mom is in quarantine along with her two brothers. Youngest brother is positive for Covid-19 and before diagnosis my mom was over at his house. She is high risk due to her age (83), but she also had knee replacement surgery in October. She is quite immuno-compromised.

Tested negative. Awaiting her second negative test next week.
Enough updates.



Odd thoughts I've heard: 

2020 is about to turn 21 and start drinking!

A bedraggled and beaten down 2020 talking to a budding young 2021 with attitude, "How's that? I gave it HELL!!"   2021 grins and says, Hold my beer and WATCH THIS!!!"


An original thought ... I want to produce and sell T-shirts that say  ...   SURVIVOR of the LOST YEAR  Est: 01/01/2020   :headbang2:


... or year first style might look better ... Est: 2020-01-01

Doing a lot of wood working that has nothing to do with my speaker project. Home improvement things. Not as much fun, but still very satisfying to finish.
 
I'm almost finished with my garage pantry "extension" project. Basically a box, seven feet high, six feet wide, three feet deep with two full length, latching/sealing doors in front. Being in the garage, the pantry had to be rodent and insect proof. I've accomplished that, I think.

I had help with the rodents, because my cat mostly lives in the garage these days. I'll know about the insects (marauding colonies of starving ants) in the spring.

The last thing we want in our neck of the woods is my Dad to contract Covid-19... because his immune system due to his MDS is questionable... yet unlike most people, he prevails thinking of others before himself.

Thinking about my friend who died three years ago. He was more alive than most people I ever knew, sharper, more precise, funnier, and I can hear his voice inside me right now.

I hear you!  I always think about my dear friend Fred and how I am glad he did not survive to this point.  The pandemic and the lock downs and the travel restrictions would have killed him.  And yes, like your friend, Fred was alive, really alive, even at 93.  Sociable, gregarious, congenial, passionate about many things.  Not to mention that Florida is a virulent hot spot for Covid right now.  Yet, the Governor is a trumpaholic and refuses to do anything to curb the spread.  AAAAAARRRRGH, I should also add that he is corrupt as hell.  Sorry for the rant. 

I can still hear Freds voice as encouragement and telling me to get, "my head in gear".  Or his favorite expletive, "That makes my ass suck wind."  I say it to this day!  Sounds like your friend left a mark to you like my friend did.    Honor it and let it be meaningful.

Despite being 8 units in my complex, strata have decided that only 5 owners plus the strata manager can attend the AGM next month because the meeting room is only 12m2 (nsw mandate the 2m2 per person rule for covid). No virtual attendance options offered :thumbdn:
