Thinking about contacting my estranged dad. Lonnnng story behind it, but there is bad blood in the family to the point that the mere mention of his name sends my mother to a frenzy. Both of them have done really horrible shit but somehow the narrative from my mother that it's all *his* fault - in reality both have been a major impact to my wellbeing and mental health.

She'll never see eye to eye, but I feel it's the more mature and healthy approach rather than the toxicity we currently have.

Saw the young Red Fox today as I stepped outside to go get the mail.  It saw me and froze, of course I stopped too.  Then I stepped back behind my car so as not to unduly alarm it.  It looked like it was hunting,  and as I stepped back, it relaxed a bit.  Then turned to whatever it was focused on.  Then it quickly trotted off in the direction it was headed in.  It must have established a territory here as there are no other foxes that we have seen.  There is plenty of prey, chipmunks, mice, voles, etc and there is water available in a decent sized marsh at the bottom of our hill.  Where I saw it last night, as I was driving home from work at 11:00 pm.  It was headed to the marsh as It passed in front of my slowed down car.   8)

Thinking of skipping painting the ceiling in my bedroom. I mean, it's the best condition ceiling in the house based on what I've seen so far.

And don't think for a second my time off has made me feel better about my work.
4 weeks in and I've only had two returns land on my desk to do when I go back. At that rate I'll do 26 of them a year.
People remark to me "wow an accountant, you must be pretty busy this time of year!"
