Yeah. I haven't owned a place yet in my life, but WolFish and I are getting serious about looking this spring. I'm seriously looking forward to being able to choose my own paint colours, plant a garden without worrying if I'll be there to harvest it, and learn how to do some simple construction for interior design.
You'll never self-actualize the subconscious canopy of stardust with that attitude.

Thinking about colours for different spaces in the house. Daughter and I will switch rooms. The room she will get is the first to tackle, after that her former room, to tansform it into a nice bedroom for me. In between I may find myself working on bits on the landing, the hallway and the toilet.

And, in the future, when al waterstains have dried, the livingroom.

Happy that as a tenant I  am allowed to do that.

I love getting colourcards from the DIY stores.

Aye odeon, it is one of them days.

Just  having to clean up the kitchen after a coolant line attached to a condenser during a vacuum distillation of chloroform came loose, spewed the entire bucket of cold water over the floor in seconds. And I have the shits. Must have eaten someone that disagreed with me. But I should be running this damn distillation not going to the bog. I don't want to leave it too long unattended.

No shit. There's been a half-inch thick or so of borax that needs electrolyzing, my old man keeps telling me (because I've a nocturnal circadian rhythm, that he 'hopes there are no dead cats on the lawn' lol.

Why would you want to be shorter?  :zawik:  :autism:

I thought he meant by "Some sleep would be nice" because I thought people shrunk a bit when lying down. But then I realised, actually, you grow a bit, then shrink again during the day.

Yes, as I undersatnd it, the spine compresses during the day under the strain of carrying one's weight.  :sumo:

Time to swap out the chlorine generator for a fresh charge and get ready with the inert gas, refill the coolant bath with cold water, especially now the sun has come out and its plenty hot out. Need to use a bigger flask though since the reaction I'm running now is producing plenty iodine monochloride. I noticed that its crystalline form, below the melting point (or one of them at least, it has two)  has been forming these acicular, dendritic looking and rather nice looking crystals during the time of its distilling over into the receiver. At first just into the receiving flask, but also into growing up the distillation adapter and first inch or two of the longer of the two condensers, the one containing the iodine. Odd looking crystal habit, like, kind of dendritic but ray-like. Going to have a rollup now I'm back home from my tech-splurging then its time to swap out the chlorine line and use positive pressure plus a home-hacked direct to bottle distillation device that will allow the Cl2 to be generated and equalize the pressure, relying on a one-way valve-based system. so that I will be able to distill the iodine monochloride directly out from the receiving flask into a bottle from which to transfer it to a chemically resistant glass bottle without its escaping, gas mask or no gas mask I don't want to be breathing that shit in.
