Top pic reminds me of the mech in one of the alien films, near the end, either alien III or alien resurrection, can't remember which, when ripley climbs into that big mecha suit and goes toe to toe slugging it out with the alien queen before getting the queen sucked out into space.

That was actually Aliens.  That suit was a loader, kind of a wearable forklift.  Ripley had said
earlier in the story that she had a Class 2 rating as a driver and could make herself useful to
the Colonial Marines by helping to load equipment on board the Sulaco.  #askageek  :2thumbsup:

This music is so beautiful, with an undercurrent of
sadness for the failure of John Hammond's glorious dream.
  It makes me teary-eyed.  :'(

Some of my favourite movies, along with the 'predator' series, and the crossover AVP movies (there are a couple of really good videogames based on the alien vs predator series where you get to play out the same game, oriented really differently, through the perspectives of the three different species, even cycling through the lifecycle of the alien, first as a facehugger, impregnating a marine, hatching then chewing your way out of him in order to gain your first health and strength, then bursting through his ribcage, scurrying around taking small prey and hiding in airvents in order to grow into the full-sized alien drone before starting the mayhem, with cutscenes as the various species filling out the story. Great games. A lot of fun as the predator with its cloaking device and taking heads for trophies. Or as an alien, a lot less physically tough, but lightening fast, very agile and capable of running through airducts, straight up walls, along ceilings looking downwards, can't stand much direct assault, but rarely needs to, taking advantage of stealth, hiding in shadows coupled with razor-sharp claws, ability to eat the corpses of your enemies in order to heal, a long barbed stinger tail, acid for blood and if you line up the target just right, those inner jaws  for an instant kill and fully healing head-bite. Predator is tough as nails, and packs the cloaking device and a variety of hunting-oriented weaponry whilst the alien can smell right through the cloak but against humans they have to get really close up or see you decloak in order to heal, and playing as a human, basically a traditional grunt of a space-marine in the wrong place at the wrong time, carries a motion tracker to get a heads up on movement and an arsenal of really heavy weapons (at least you hope you have rounds in the chamber when something nasty starts llegging it towards you in the dark, hanging off the roof of a ship or a cave on the nearby planet, and those damn facehuggers, best have a flamethrower to target them as they jump far and your insta-fucked as either predator or alien (although the predator can set the vision modes of its mask to track targets with the shoulder-mounted plasma weapon it carries, or it's thrown razor-edged disk thing can lock onto targets to take heads for trophies at long range (and same with the speargun, although it doesn't track, its funny as hell because as the predator, it has this speargun-like sniper rifle that fires a long hypervelocity sharp bolt fast enough that wherever its aimed, it will hit, and hit hard enough with a head-shot to take the head right off its former owner's shoulders and pin it to the next solid surface in its trajectory for pickup when you get there. or just plain old rip off bodyparts)
Beyond the pale. Way, way beyond the pale.

I went to bed last night (well, OK, it was three AM) watching a DVD of a Santana concert, He always plays that song.

If you like Santana, there is quite a bit out there to explore. Start with Youtube and your local library. You might be surprised.
Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

It is actually a BIG window, but you can decide how much of it you want to see through at you own choosing.

Search for more Santana.

While you are at it check out one of his "students"   ...   Orianthi. She will surprise you.

Orianthi came to fame during her stay with the Michael Jackson back up band.

Brings a tear to me eye!

She is another worth exploring if you like guitar work.

Santana once said about her, and I have to paraphrase, ...

She is not just a cute little girl playing guitar anymore. We have to take her sensuously, now.
