Seems like you could be right Pappy.  It does make me laugh how much time Muslim haters invest in studying Islam.
Why wouldn't they? People who know little to support their own viewpoints have baseless points of view.

Because it's over the top.  They are also clutching at straws as to why there's aggression from the Muslim world.  But they ignore the main reasons.

I don't think Benji is a homophobe at all because I know his male kind. They have the propensity to take the mickey, no matter who they are or what they believe in. My brother in law is somewhat similar to him because he socialises with mates from his rugby days. I get taken the piss by him for my autistic and ginger ways. Incidentally, he's entitled to his views on Jews just as I am on my views on religion altogeth."

I2 today is not i2 of yesteryear. It is a knitting circle. Those that participate be they nice or asshats know their place and the price to be there. Odeon is the overlord

.Benevolent if you toe the line.

Think it is I2 of old? Even Odeon is not so delusional as to think otherwise. He may on occasionally pretend otherwise but his base is that knitting circle.

Censoring/banning/restricting/moderating myself, Calanadale & Scrapheap were all not his finest moments.

That's just disagreeing. Still better than disagreeing with someone who doesn't really know much about what they're saying. Islam is more than only a religion; it's the foundation for sharia law, making it fundamental to political and civic culture of muslim nations. Thinking one doesn't necessarily need to know much about the jewish faith to form a knowledgeable point of view about their politics or civic culture, but can't see how that's really possible with muslims and islam. Even if a person only studied sharia laws, that's basically studying islam.

Same apartment.  I don't need to justify myself to you.

No, you just did it to the board, a couple of years ago, and it was some black people. My mistake. You had lunch with the gay man.

Lol what.  Yeah, I did it to the board about 5 years ago.  Just because you never grow as a person, doesn't mean we're all like that.

So you grew out of it, but you were a homophobic?

Have you ever considered reading my posts?  Just so I don't have to keep repeating myself.

I believe this is one of the main reasons for legalizing same sex marriage.  The amount of money made by divorce lawyers is insane.  For people to think that Obomber and Cameron care about homosexual rights is worrying.

It's far more important to study the main reasons why people are doing what they're doing.  No need to go back 1000 years or more.

What I said applies to today. A person who refuses to understand or acknowledge the influence of islam in muslim political and civic functions probably doesn't understand the full scope of the why of the matter, just like someone who focuses entirely on islam without considering other mitigating circumstances also probably doesn't understand the full scope. That's why saying before, you're disagreeing. The initial statement about muslim haters who study islam came across like a statement about homophobes who hang out around gay bars. Your next response was better. Wasn't really disagreeing about the point of focus, but do believe an understanding of both is required.

Should homophobes be studying how Roman Emperors would have young boys sucking on them while they swam in the sea?

All the modern Muslim hating stems from 9/11.  Now let's say for argument's sake that the official version is true.  They only now need to look at what we've been doing to the Muslim world for decades.

Wouldn't say all, but for americans, yes, probably a lot of people. Some people are personally biased, some are just bigots, and a lot of those people probably don't take the time to know a great deal about islam or muslim culture, much less their politics or history. Then again, anyone who apposes and entire people can come across like a bigot no matter how knowledgeable they are. Still think it's better than dealing with someone who stakes a claim in lack of knowledge. Some people simply admonish muslim culture and it has little to do with war or political aggression, and their culture can't be separated from islam. If you talking about people who bring up the child bride of muhammed, then that can still be found in muslim culture today, so not sure how the romans apply. If you're talking about people who apply religious rituals, or what they see as repugnant cultural acts, to discussions of political aggression, then sure, you're disagreeing about their focus and correct that it's a poor argument in a political discussion. This doesn't necessarily mean all bigots have baseless points of view, or that knowledge of islam isn't sufficient to form an opinion about muslims in general. It just means arguing politics with someone who doesn't know much about politics, and thus doesn't acknowledge the full scope. It's understandable some people might only be interested in the political aspects, but they're difficult to complete dissociate from religion in some cases.

My point was about how people go through with a tooth comb to try and find why Muslims are the way they are and waste their time with irrelevant tripe.
