Should chimpanzees have human rights?
« on: January 12, 2011, 06:34:45 PM »
OK they're not human so obviously they wouldn't be "human" rights, but you know what I mean. Should they be afforded the same kind of rights that we have?

Of course. Why shouldn't Pentagram have the same rights as the rest of us?

Very well. I apologize to any chimpanzees who may be reading this for my crass and inappropriate comparison. I am sorry if I offended any of you.

With rights come responsibilities.

Unless it can be proven that chimps conceptualize responsibility, they should have no rights.

Would that mean young children should have  have no rights? They can't conceptualize responsibility either

Yeah plenty of humans are retarded. There are chimps who show more intellect and ability than some humans

But they will someday, and if they don't, they end up in prizon with their rights taken away anyways.  :M

I'm not even sure humans should have human rights.
