Mad men has brought those back in style, I love it...especially when you can find one free, I'm always snatching them up when I see them priced cheaply at yard sales.

Found a rather decent glass top patio table (was planning on buying a cheap plastic one but didn't want to shell out $25 yet...glad I didn't)
Box of old books and vintage 1960 something greeting cards. One book is the History of Pennsylvania, dated 1913.
Lawnboy mower, 2 cycle.

My former co-worker, now retired, loved her rotary phone and only reluctantly updated to touch-tone
because it's so hard to get through all these automated directories with an old-fashioned phone.

Occasionally I will hear someone's cell phone with the ringtone of an old rotary phone, I love the sound.

I think there were a couple of those in my old dormitory!  Now, good luck finding any kind of phone booth at all!  :orly:

There was one at a tag sale I went to last year but it was $1000

Sweet Potato ice cream

Ingredients:
•2 1/2 cups heavy cream
•1 cup whole milk
•3/4 cup dark brown sugar
•5 egg yolks
•1 cup sweet potato puree
•1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
•3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Preparation:
Heat the cream, milk, and brown sugar in a heavy medium saucepan, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved and mixture is hot. In a small bowl, whisk the egg yolks briefly; slowly pour about 1 cup of the hot mixture into the egg yolks, whisking briskly while you pour. Pour the egg yolk mixture back into the saucepan, whisking constantly. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon, about 6 to 8 minutes. Do not boil.
Strain the mixture into a bowl. Whisk in the sweet potato puree and spices. Cover and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.

Freeze in ice cream freezer following manufacturer's directions.
Makes about 1 quart.
