WTF is with some people? So many lights their electric bills must be outrageous and their neighbors blinded.  Will try and get some photos tonight.  Is this a world wide thing or just with us nutty Americans

I like the lights.  I just hate the big, dodgy, glowing Santa that my neighbours have in their front garden  :facepalm2:

Do they have the big Santas with the fans in them to keep them inflated too?

Have only seen those inflated things at some shops sofar.

But lightning in abundance is growing here.

Lots of santa's, deers etc slowly appearing now.

The ornamental hectic did not start before December 6 though, because Christmas is not welcome here before StNic is gone. So even shops will not have a Christmas display or advertising before that.
I can do upside down chocolate moo things!

Have posted this before but here is what you can do if you have a limited amount of Christmas lights:

Inflatables, lighted mini ferris wheels, all kinds crap around here. I seriously need to take some pictures.

Thinking this would be a good theme for next year.

I love goddy houses. But it's a lot of work to put them up.

We've got a 20-watt, 400-light set of LEDs on a plastic tree, which I fixed yesterday after the control box died.

My issue isn't tackiness; it's cost.  I think it's mind-boggling that in this economy people can prioritize the money spent on electricity to keep lights going as a worthwhile expense.

You win this thread because that's most unsettling to even think about.
