No, was my question to Soph, so that, in a next life, he could go shag other alpacas, having returned as a male alpaca.

do you like putting empty kitchen rolls up to your eye and pretending you're a pirate?

Actually, every time there's an empty roll, I call monkeygirl to the kitchen and that's exactly what we do. I'm being serious too! One must adopt a pirate voice and accent too.

In another thread you refer to your domestic goddess duties. Are you Celtic IRL as well? I'm an ethnicity geek!

That's a very cool thing to be interested in! I wanted so badly to research my family tree, then I found out an uncle on each side of the family had already done is so extensively, there was nothing left for me to look up.

Part of my Dad's side originally came from Germany and we just celebrated our 300th family reunion this past summer. 300 years ago they came from Germany and settled in PA first before moving to a little town in Canada where most of my extended family still lives.

The other side of his family is Cherokee Indian.

My Mum's side is Welsh, Scottish, Irish and British. And my first name is Welsh. My sister is one of the best Celtic harpers in North America. :)

So I have a nice little mash up in my family. It's my Mum's genes that show through me the most though.

How very awesome! I love it that your family is so well researched and documented. Those uncles have done a great service to all of you.  :viking:

My father is the son of Austrian immigrants, and there is also a little Polish ancestry on his mother's side.
My mother's side is Irish, English, and possibly also part Native American (which we only learned three years ago from a cousin).

And here is your sister ----->   :harp:

I find it fascinating how people get to where they are. So many claim pure heritage but most are a mix of several backgrounds.

With the 'mericans (including Canada, of course), that is especially true. You so often have a mix of heritages while it's very uncommon here.

IMO that very fact makes your countries very interesting. It's the kind of anthropology that fascinates me.
