The lining that they put on the ceiling of cars for sound buffering works as a decent substitute in my father's home entertainment room.   You can't hear shit coming from the room next to it compared to before.

Exercise bike is better for you than a treadmill?   I guess it is lower impact on the knees.   You could do either while watching TV of course.

i have to sit down. otherwise i won't do it. i just can't be assed to do stuff if i don't get to lie or sit. it's more effective if i stick to the exercise. and i have to sit/lie down to watch TV to concentrate.

There are plenty of soundproofing sites on the net.   They have foams and such for different prices.

These are manufactured, but there are cheaper alternatives.   You can just buy automobile headliner foam.
