Yes, it's an internet forum and there rules here very easy ones to follow and I like it that way.  Most other places have much more harsh rules here it's simple don't violate the TOS.  If people violate them and there is a problem we all lose and that is one less place to go

But Lord Plexiglass sounds like someone who likes rules per se.

I don't like rules but with out them places like this could not exist I'm sure others would agree with that

Oh, I sound like I like rules. I suppose that's all the evidence a crackpot like you needs. It puts a lot of faith into your fact finding abilities then.

This place has hardly any fucking rules genius, so why do you think I post here.

Seems a bit heavy handed to kick someone if they hadn't violated the TOS, and I'm taking parts' word on this. Also, I'm going on what was said over at zOMG, and if what he said is true, heavy handed would be an under-statement. Still, it's your site, and we are just the membership who keep it going......Oh, and just one word of advice - just because you don't like the ethics or the membership of Soph's site doesn't give you the right to bag them without first checking them out.

Well, my friend, I am a member and I complained about the content of the thread.

And I'm sorry, if you find the topic interesting, too bad. That definitely is not what this site is for. And definitely happy to debate the issue, but I am appalled that the discussion about that sort of thing is something you feel is worth fighting for.

As for Odeon's slant on the TOS, not only are his points valid, specifically, they also state;

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Any material that, in our judgment, is obscene, threatening, illegal, or violates our terms of service in any manner may be removed from our servers (or otherwise disabled), with or without notice.

Failure to respond to email from our abuse department within 48 hours may result in the suspension or termination of your services. All abuse issues must be dealt with via troubleticket/email and will have a response within 48 hours.

If in doubt regarding the acceptability of your site or service, please contact us at abuse@hostgator.com and we will be happy to assist you.

Potential harm to minors is strictly forbidden, including but not limited to child pornography or content perceived to be child pornography (Lolita):

Any site found to host child pornography or linking to child pornography will be suspended immediately without notice.

Therefore, TALKING about harm to minors, or content perceived to be child pornography, exposes the site to being shut down. Apart from being hideously offensive.

And yes, the laws the site are bound to are US laws....not the freehanded laws you and others wish to debate.

And debate away, but the TOS are clear.

Personally I don't give a shit about the subject. It's the criticsm of the guy for merely discussing it that's abhorrent. If he posted pics of porn related material, then fair enough. Buty if it was just a rant or some shit about fucking kids (which was the subject of the anime - a robot fucking an 11 year old), then where is the problem? How much porn have others like TheoK and his ilk have put up on this site, only to have nothing done? Are they threatened with the ban stick because of it? buttcoffee may be a fucktard, and he may post a lot of crap, but as long as it doesn't directly fuck things up, then who gives a shit. I personally think porn is a wank, and don't bother with it, but aq discussion or question on an act can't be considered too fucking harmful.

It's a pity there aren't universal laws for things like the net, considering the US fucks everything it touches.

Fucking lighten up, for Christ's sake. no-one was advocating child porn at all anyway, and all your overreactions prove is that you can't see the forest for the trees.

You are a joke.

The initial post in the thread was quite explicit and had nothing to do with robots. And no, I don't usually overreact, but I had serious concerns and I tell you what I WOULD have taken it further if it continued without being stopped. And NO, I did not convey that to Odeon. But I would have.

And yes, Lit does post a lot of shit, and he has been banned before.

But really, as I said earlier, if you guys don't have anything better to do than tout this shit or say bullshit like 'oh he wasn't serious', or 'he was on a bad trip'..too bad.

He got a warning....give it a rest.

 ???

I have been banned on my own request, if we're talking about this board.  8)

Didn't you just delete your account the first time around? I'm pretty sure I have never banned you, at least. :-\

I think that you asked to have your account deleted but you left and never confirmed the request, so it was deleted after a delay, Litigious.

I don't remember you being banned.

odeon seems to believe, that asking ...

now, you guys whinge and whine about freedom of speech, but it appears none of you donkey fuckers understand what it means. this is odeon site, wrongplanet jr, if he wants to ban me for writing something that's in bad taste, he can. he can go on and on about how i'm supposedly encouraging people to break the law or how i'm supposedly breaking some imaginary law he got from his idol, Alex Plunk
It is legal under US law, but the terms of the host clearly do not allow it. Look at the TOS thread on here.

Seems like it.

BTW, how many actually DO read the fucking TOS's of ANY site they log into? Same as when you download and install a program you just hit the 'I agree' button. If anyone actually says yes, then I'd be fucking surprised.....

Oh, and eclair, go fuck yourself with something hard and sandpapery. If you wan't stuff that won't shock and offend on a fucking ADULT forum,  :gotowp:

Its not Odeon's TOS - its Hostgator's. Unfortunately the US constitution does not extend to websites.

Tells you something about the US constitution, doesn't it. Considering the net is a worldwide phenomenon, international law should apply to everything posted. BTW, as some prats might think I am advocating this bullshit, I have said that I'm AGAINST child por or porn itself. I* am more pissed of in the fact that a DISCUSSION without LINKS AND IMAGES is stifled because of some worry that it violates some arbitrary rule. Discussing a subject is fine under any law, we are not in 1930s Germany. Advocating that people undertake the activity is a different thing.
