Another new toy
« on: February 26, 2009, 07:01:45 PM »
One of my kids found an anemometer on the way home from school yesterday just another thing to add to my list of weird things I have at the house. been holding out the window of the truck on the highway and got it up to 85mph.   Is it just me or do others come across all kinds of strange shit like this on a regular basis

I like that you thought to test it with highway wind resistance.  :)

I don't have the same tendency for serrendipitous gadget-finding as you do, but I come across strange people.

...I mean, uh...

...well, it's accurate either way.
it is well known that PMS Elle is evil.

You win this thread because that's most unsettling to even think about.

Wrong camera!! Found a wrong camera!

Hate wrong camera!

I made it go away, though - all of it!

Ended up giving it away. I gave it to the young-ish teacher who first made me realize that there was something very different about my son (and not just that he was reading like a fourth grader at three years old), as she proceeded to kick him out of pre-school. She could not "legally" use the word autism in her capacity as a teacher, but she dropped enough hints that we sought help from a psychologist and discovered what the basis of his troubles and many gifts were all about.

I wanted to hate her when she kicked my son out of pre-school, but I began to realize that she was actually helping us in the only way she could. I could think of no one more needing of a decent camera than she, so I gave the entire system to her and printed out the manual, highlighting the important stuff.

Whew! That was a close one!

The last thing I found was a pink highlighter on the ground at uni. It is mine now. :)

I found a stick of Dynamex many years ago, but I didn't have an initial explosive back then. This was before the internet.  :P
