i fucking love you Had.
I do, too. I've been in hundreds of these types of discussions with teeanage, pie-eyed know-it-alls when I was in photography work.
They go around in circles, saying the same thing, because that's really all they know to do.
The best part is watching them change and grow.
So you guys wouldn't mind if I printed some of these responses off and gave them out in my tutorial presentation (on nothing other than equality). I think the reaction might be interesting.
Nah, I don't care.
You live in a world devoid of personal responsibility, asking for all those you CAN to DO for you.
If it makes you feel more enabled to make fun of those who DO, then go for it. Your abilities will hit the wall at some point and you will look to those who actually have tried and failed, tried again and failed, but finally come to a balance with life's challenges.
We won't allow your Utopian nonsense to affect our daily lives, without a fight that you will lose.
BTW, I know exactly what your peers' responses will be. I've seen it too many times, already. You will have three or four who are smart enough to see ahead and hundreds more who have sucked full cheek deep into the dick of socialist promises and still expect that the nature of humans in power to be benign in their dealing with the "expecting."
Try not to be so expecting of finding a path well traveled worth pursuing and make your own damn way.
